Portions of Las Vegas Strip Closed to Traffic After Deadly Shooting

According to investigators, a driving rage incident on the Las Vegas Strip was followed by a fatal shooting Monday afternoon.

T he victim suffered a neck injury at 4:04 p.m. following a fight in front of the Venetian Resort's Palazzo.

Before the explosion of gunfire, the unidentified victim had approached the suspect's vehicle. At the scene, T the injured man died. It looks like no one else was hurt.

According to authorities, T he suspect was a slim man. He was wearing a cap on his head backwards and has light skin.

His age and the clothes he was wearing were unknown.

 

Closed Roads

Before Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers arrived at the scene, T the gunman left in a silver Subaru WRX.

Las Vegas TV station KVVU reported that Las Vegas Boulevard was closed in both directions between Sands Avenue and Sirens Cove Drive while police investigated the incident late Monday afternoon.

Additionally, RTC Southern Nevada declared that Sands Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard and Koval Lane was closed in both directions.

 

The Lam suspect

The culprit was still out on the loose as of Monday night. As of early Monday night, a large number of LVMPD vehicles were spotted close to the Venetian Las Vegas.

The type of firearm the suspect used in the shooting was unknown, and it's unclear if investigators have a plausible identity for him. T he incident's cause is likewise uncertain.

The gunman may spend many years behind bars if he is caught, charged, and found guilty.

T he deceased person will probably be autopsied.  T he Clark County coroner's office will validate the identification of the victim and disclose the cause and manner of death.

T he shooting was reportedly a homicide. The killing will be reported to the victim's family.

Later Monday night, the LVMPD was anticipated to provide more information about the shooting.
